About the Club
The Chilliwack Masters Swim Club was founded by four original members: Andrew Carmichael, Kayt Hine, Larry Hine, and Lolita Rochelle-Lazenby. The idea for the club began to take shape in January 2015 after the Masters swim classes offered by the head coach of the Spartan Swim Club were no longer available.
The club was officially established in September 2015. Lolita, who made significant contributions to the club’s early development, sadly passed away earlier that year, prior to the inaugural season. The formation of the club was, in part, a tribute to her dedication and enthusiasm.
Today, the Chilliwack Masters Swim Club supports more than 50 active swimmers, hosts an annual Masters swim meet, and maintains a waiting list for interested newcomers and returning swimmers. The club is a not-for-profit society, governed by a volunteer board of directors, and is currently coached by Isaiah Trites and Willem Hergesheimer.
